I wear many hats: teacher, writer, speaker, pastor, mentor, sister, and friend, but my favorite title is mom. I am a mom to three grown-and-flown children whom I birthed, three bonus children I gained when ours wed, and many others in and out of the church who lovingly call me mom, Mama Essick, or church lady. I am a grandma to five (Teta in Arabic to two, Mimi to grandson in Ct, and Grammie to the rest), an empty nester, and a devout wife. What 5 Can Do is the first book of what I hope are many more to come. When I am not writing, you can find me serving in and out of the church, walking my dog, enjoying nature, riding my bicycle, playing disc golf, taking rides on the back of my husband’s motorcycle, or rock painting. I reside in Connecticut with my husband and dog Obi.
I believe in God as Father, rebirth through Christ His Son, and daily guidance through the Holy Spirit.
I also believe and am waiting expectantly for the glorious return of my Lord Jesus Christ. At this time every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. I pray you know Him before then or your time on earth is done.
I am dedicated to helping others to come to know Jesus and make Him known all the while living out my personal motto which is to: Love God, love people – serve both!
I am also the author of What 5 Can do (the whole year through).
